Discovering Ashfield - Spring Update
April marks 200 years since Lord Byron’s death.
22nd January 1788 - 19th April 1824
Described as a ‘poet, rebel, lover and exile’ - Byron definitely left his mark in the world, even so long after his passing. His final resting place can be found at St Mary Magdalene Church, Hucknall, beneath the chancel.

Ashfield Plant Fair returns to Sutton on Sunday 19th May
9am - 1pm Market Place car park, Sutton in Ashfield.
If you have the green finger gene then come along and find some new indoor and outdoor plants, along with some handy tools.
Brierley Park is turning 30!
The former colliery site has been around for 30 years and it’s getting the party it deserves in May. The park includes a fishing, cycling and walking trails, play area and a café.

Inspire Libraries needs your help.
They need volunteers to help with this year’s Summer Reading Challenge for children aged 4-11.
Volunteers will sign up children to the challenge, listen to children talk about books they’ve read and give out stickers and rewards.
