Update regarding medication in school.

Good afternoon,
Hope this message finds you well. From tomorrow the school will not be administering antibiotics or Calpol.
If you child requires Calpol in school we kindly ask that you make arrangements for a family member to pop into school and administer it.

If your child requires antibiotics we kindly ask that all doses are administered at home or a family member comes into school to administer it.

This decision has been taken with the welfare of staff and children in mind and as a consequence of the high numbers of children who required medicine at the end of last term. Children didn't always remember to come for their medicine, some children refused to take medicine, medicine was left in school, staff were unsure if children had taken medicine at home. Children required different doses at different times. It became difficult to manage and staff were concerned that a child could have been missed.

The school will continue to administer medicine to those children who have a long term condition that requires medication.
If you have any questions about the above decision do not hesitate to contact me.

Miss Seward.
